Your glass is permanently engraved like a pro!
1) How does it work?
The starting point is to create a stencil, either manually or using a cutting plotter.
The stencil, made with vinyl (preferably temporary adhesive), is positioned on the object to be engraved and then weeded.
A generous amount of cream is then poured, ideally onto an area that won't be in contact with the glass.
Using a squeegee, the cream is gently spread as if frosting a cake.
The product is left to set for about 15 minutes. Depending on the setting time, the frosted appearance may vary slightly.
After 15 minutes, still using the squeegee, the cream is removed and returned to the container.
And yes, it's reusable!
The surface is rinsed with water to remove any cream residue.
The stencil is removed, the surface is rinsed, and the glass is dried. The glass is now permanently engraved.
2) What materials can be engraved?
You can engrave glass, mirrors, ceramics, porcelain, marble, slate…
3) What is the difference between etching cream and etching liquid?
Engraving cream is a reusable cream that produces a white, opaque, and permanent engraving on various materials such as glass, mirrors, ceramics, porcelain, marble, and slate.
Its applications are numerous: decorative objects, shop windows, trophies, awards, shower enclosures, security engraving on cars, etc.
Etch Bath is a reusable etching liquid with the consistency of water. It can be used to etch and etch all clear or colored glass, except Pyrex®. It provides a beautiful matte finish that is fingerprint-resistant. The texture of the etched glass allows it to accept both water-based and oil-based paints, as well as inks. You can then paint your glass objects or apply rubber stamps to them.
4) Is it safe to drink or eat from an object that has been engraved?
Yes, once the glass has been etched, rinse it thoroughly and it can be used normally.
When performing the engraving, as a safety precaution, we recommend wearing gloves and possibly safety glasses to protect against any potential splashes. The pH is 5.8.
5) How can I create my own stencils?
If you're skilled, you can create beautiful stencils using the
rotary blade cutting tools and adhesive vinyl sheets we offer on the website.
Of course, using a cutting plotter will allow you to easily create more detailed stencils. Our Craft ROBO cutting plotter, which comes complete with its software at a very affordable price, is the ideal tool for this type of project.
