What is DTF UV?

What is DTF UV ?

UV DTF printing is the latest revolution in the world of product personalization. Like standard DTF printing, UV DTF printing involves printing your designs directly onto a film (Direct To Film) and then transferring them to the surface you wish to personalize. Combined with UV technology, this new personalization method allows you to create markings on a wide variety of solid surfaces, whereas DTF was previously limited to textiles.

This technique requires the use of a UV printer and inks . These inks contain a photosensitive agent that solidifies when exposed to light. Printing is therefore very fast and, unlike DTF printing on textiles, does not require a drying solution.

Create DTF UV markings in 2 steps

Step 1 – We produce your prints

Send us your files so we can handle your printing needs. Once your order is ready, we'll ship it to you.

Step 2 – Application and peeling

Upon receiving your DTF UV sheets, simply cut out your designs using a craft knife or scissors. Then, apply the image, like a sticker, to the surface you wish to personalize, ensuring beforehand that the surface is clean. No special tools are required; simply apply pressure with your fingers.

The best technique is to stick the top center of the sticker, then gently and slowly smooth it down. Once it's fully in place, rub it from top to bottom. Once both sides are fully positioned, you can then apply more pressure all around.

All you have to do now is remove the transfer film and there you go, your marking is finished!

Warning: once placed, you CANNOT remove your marking.

The Advantages of DTF UV

DTF UV transfer offers numerous advantages! The process is faster and simpler than some personalization techniques like traditional UV printing, laser engraving, or sublimation. In fact, this technique requires very little equipment and allows you to personalize any type of surface without the need for a polyester coating.

Breathtaking image quality

DTF UV printing allows for the reproduction of high-resolution, clear and precise images, true to life. UV inks are capable of reproducing a wide range of colors for vibrant, colorful markings with exceptional image quality.

This quality will not degrade over time. DTF UV prints resist fading and washing, meaning the printed image will retain its quality over time. This printing method is also more scratch-resistant. This makes DTF UV printing an ideal choice for creating durable and impactful markings.

Unparalleled versatility

With DTF UV printing, your materials don't need a specific polyester coating, unlike sublimation. In other words, you can customize almost anything! You can apply your designs to a wide variety of materials : metal, wood, PVC, ceramic, glass, steel, leather, cardboard, acrylic, silicone… With the exception of fabrics, almost all materials can be customized using DTF UV printing.

However, we recommend that you always carry out preliminary tests before undertaking a large-scale production.

The prints can also be applied to cylindrical, conical, wet, irregularly shaped, or flexible surfaces. For example, you can create markings for phone cases, mugs, keychains, glasses, boxes, packaging, etc

With DTF UV printing, the possibilities are endless!

A more environmentally friendly technique

Unlike screen printing, UV inks contain no solvents. In other words, no chemicals are released into the air during printing or transfer. This printing technique requires less energy and resources, resulting in less waste while maintaining a professional finish.

DTF UV printing also helps preserve your materials. Unlike traditional UV printing, where the object is directly marked and therefore exposed to the printer's UV rays, you simply apply a sticker to the object, thus avoiding the risk of discoloration.

A technique suitable for small and medium production runs

In addition to giving you more autonomy in creating personalized items, this technique will be more economical if you are producing small or medium runs. By properly optimizing your layout, you can combine many different visuals and save some for future use.
