Frequently Asked Questions
Without equipment amortization, DTF transfer and polyester sublimation are the least expensive techniques to launch, with a cost per A4 t-shirt of around € 3.29 to €3.57 excluding VAT. However, the initial cost of DTF equipment is higher. If you are starting out without any equipment investment, ready-to-press printing service is the most accessible solution.
The cost of producing a custom t-shirt includes: the garment (raw t-shirt), consumables (ink, paper/film, powder), electricity consumption , and potentially the depreciation of equipment (printer, heat press, plotter). Our PDF fact sheets detail each item by technique and format, with two scenarios: with and without depreciation.
The cost without depreciation covers only consumables (ink, paper, media). It represents the variable cost after the equipment has paid for itself. The cost with depreciation spreads the purchase price of the equipment over a defined number of prints (e.g., 4,000 or 6,000 copies) and provides a realistic view of the actual cost during the payback period.
For polyester sublimation printing, the cost price of an 11 oz white mug is estimated at €1.58 excluding VAT (without depreciation of equipment), including the mug (€1.22 excluding VAT), mug-sized paper (€0.07 excluding VAT), Sublijet ink (€0.12 excluding VAT), and electricity consumption (€0.17 excluding VAT). See the polyester sublimation PDF for complete details.
