10 Reasons to Choose Flex EasyWeed

For all your flocking creations

Whether you're a beginner or an expert in flocking, PS Film EasyWeed is perfect and adapts to all needs. Offered by SISER, EasyWeed flex combines ease of use with a professional finish. This flex isn't the brand's best-seller for nothing! Discover in this article 10 reasons why this flex is an excellent choice for all your creations.

1 - A sticky adhesive liner

EasyWeed consists of a colored film, a heat-activated adhesive, and a liner. Unlike some heat transfer vinyls that have a static liner (meaning the material is held in place by static electricity), all EasyWeed vinyls come with a sticky adhesive liner for ease of use.

This characteristic makes it extremely easy to weed. Indeed, weeding is always easier with a sticky liner because the fine details remain attached and anything accidentally removed can be reattached.

2 - A one-second "Tack"

Tack , or even in just one second when layering.

However, the more pressure a garment is subjected to, the more it shrinks. A flex fabric with a strong tack will reduce shrinkage because the pressure will be exerted for a shorter period.

Furthermore, the less the garment shrinks when heated, the easier it will be to align the different layers of flex material for layering. Conversely, the more the garment shrinks, the more difficult it will be to align each color.

3 - The Hot Weeding Trick

The sticky liner allows you to perform hot weeding, which will save you time during weeding.

To achieve this feat, your heat press must be switched on and heated. Then, press the empty lower platen until it is thoroughly heated. Next, place your pre-cut flex material on top. Upon contact with the heat, the adhesive will begin to melt slightly, just enough for the flex to be removed easily.

4 - A wide choice of colors

Suitable for all types of fabrics such as cotton, polyester, or polycotton, EasyWeed offers a wide range of colors. With over 60 different shades, you're sure to find a color for each of your projects. With EasyWeed, your creations will be bursting with color!

5 - A SUPER-easy Overlay

The unique composition of EasyWeed allows for the layering of two flex sheets on top of each other or a textured flex sheet on top of EasyWeed. This lets you create unique and original designs with a multitude of colors and effects.

We recommend layering no more than 3 layers to maintain the garment's lightness. However, you can add more if you are creating a layered effect (i.e., combining several colors side by side).

6 - Transfers at home with an iron

Not all heat-transfer vinyl is compatible with an iron. However, EasyWeed is! As we mentioned, EasyWeed adapts to all needs!

To transfer your EasyWeed flex with an iron, follow these tips:

  1. Place your textile on a flat, hard surface (an ironing board is not recommended)
  2. Select the "cotton" setting on your iron
  3. Preheat your fabric for 5 seconds to remove creases and moisture
  4. Press the iron firmly for 10 seconds over the entire image. For larger images, press each section for 10 seconds
  5. Peel while hot
  6. Cover with a sheet of baking paper and lightly iron the entire image for 15 seconds

7 - High resistance to washing

Garments customized with EasyWeed heat transfer vinyl are perfectly safe for machine and tumble drying . It is recommended to wait 24 hours before the firstwash , use a 60°C cycle with a mild detergent, and select a delicate drying program. If the vinyl has been applied correctly with the appropriate time, temperature, and pressure, it should not peel off.

As a reminder, EasyWeed is pressed at 150°C for 15 seconds with medium pressure. However, if you are layering, press the first layers at 160°C for 5 seconds and then the last layer for 10 seconds.

Note that it is not recommended to use liquid fabric softeners, as they leave a residue on the fabric that is not conducive to the application of the flex.

8 - A Flex Made in Italy

A little-known advantage of this product is its origin. This Made in Europe is manufactured in Italy, which helps reduce its carbon footprint.

Siser's story began in the 1970s in Vicenza, in northeastern Italy. After more than 45 years of experience, the brand is widely recognized for its commitment to innovation and offering high-quality products.

9 - A perfect thickness

What about the thickness of this flex? At 90 microns, EasyWeed is thick enough to facilitate cutting and weeding, yet thin enough to offer a soft touch and a feeling of lightness once applied.

10 - A Flex fabric certified by OEKO-TEX and safe for little ones

We know that as parents, you want to make the right choices for your family. This is also important when it comes to clothing, as the chemicals and dyes used in the manufacture of some textiles can cause allergies, rashes, and other conditions that disproportionately affect babies and children.

One of the best ways to know if textiles are safe and sustainable is to look for traceable product labels. This is where OEKO-TEX comes in.

The STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX is one of the world's best-known labels for textiles tested for harmful substances. It certifies that every component of the product – from the fabric to other accessories – has been rigorously tested for toxic chemicals.

The EasyWeed flex has been OEKO-TEX certified to allow you to ensure the safety, style and absence of chemicals for your children and youngest customers.
