Which textile transfer technique should I choose to start with? +
Direct-to-film (DTF) is the most accessible technique for beginners: no screen required, compatible with all fabrics and colors, and professional results from the very first use. If you already have a color laser printer, white toner laser transfer (OKI) is an excellent alternative for dark fabrics.
What is the difference between DTF and DTG? +
DTG ) printing applies the transfer directly to the garment laid flat on the machine. Direct-to-film (DTF) printing applies the transfer first to a film, then heat-pressing it onto the garment. DTF is more versatile (suitable for all fabrics and all colors), while DTG is ideal for cotton and large print runs. The Ricoh Ri1000X allows you to do both with a single machine.
Which DTF film should I use with a DTF printer? +
For standard production, 60cm x 100m glossy film rolls are the most versatile option. For fast-moving batch production, choose PREMIUM instant peel , which allow for hot film removal without waiting for cooling. Both are compatible with all DTF printers on the market.
Do you need a powder snow can to do DTF? +
Yes, a powder applicator is essential in a DTF workshop: it applies the molten powder to the freshly printed ink, then heats it to fix the transfer. Without a powder applicator, the transfer won't adhere properly to the fabric. For high-volume production, the CT600s Ultra Fast applicator is recommended for use with 4-head printers.
Can I use laser transfer paper with any printer? +
Forever papers (FC Top Dark, TOPCUT3V, etc.) are compatible with most standard color laser printers. However, papers requiring white toner (such as Flex-Soft No Cut or papers for dark textiles) are exclusively compatible with OKI Pro8432WT, Pro7411WT, or Pro9420WT printers, which include a dedicated white toner cartridge.
