DTF: The No. 1 choice for velvet

Velvet is a pile fabric that reacts poorly to direct-to-garment (DTG) inks or heavy screen printing. DTF transfer rests on the surface of the fibers, guaranteeing:

👐 Preserved Touch

The film's thinness avoids the "cardboard" effect, leaving the velvet with all its suppleness and natural drape.

🎨 Total Opacity

Even on deep velvets (black, midnight blue, burgundy), the colors pop without being absorbed by the fabric.

🌡 Pressing Settings: Special Velvet

The secret of velvet lies in the pressure. Too much pressure will permanently mark the pile of the fabric.

Setting Recommended Value
Temperature 140°C to 150°C
Time 12 to 15 seconds
Pressure Light to Medium
Pro Tip Use a pressing cushion to protect the hair.

💬 FAQ: Customizing Velvet

Will the pressing leave a square mark on my velvet?
To avoid this, reduce the pressure and use a Teflon cushion. If a mark appears, lightly brush the fibers with a soft brush after pressing to restore volume to the fur.
Can you print on cotton velvet and synthetic velvet?
Yes, DTF is universal. It adheres equally well to cotton velvet (more absorbent) and polyester velvet (shinier/stretchier).

🧼 Velvet garment care

  • ✔ Gentle wash in cold water (30°C)
  • ✔ Always turn the garment inside out
  • ✔ No chemical dry cleaning
  • ✔ Natural drying on a hanger

⚠
Never iron directly over the DTF design. Always use a cloth between the iron and the fabric.
